A morning with Kai

I know I need to do more narratives, but for now, here are a few more pictures. Most were taken in the a.m. Kai's sporting some interesting bedhead and a wet bib, but he eventually cleans up really nice.



Some of you have had the chance to witness (and encourage) Kai to perform his "strong man" routine. For those who have not had the pleasure, Kai tenses all his muscles until his entire body shakes and veins begin to surface and then he and us collapse in a fit of giggles. It is really quite a sight.

Dr. Kai was called to the scene when his baby doll fell ill, but he used his stethoscope and ruled out any respiratory problems. Update: Baby doll is doing much better, thanks for asking. (Yes, I am tired) :)

Wedding Picts

We had a great time at our friend's wedding on Saturday. Kai had a lot of fun, but was velcro'd to me most of the time. Needless to say, I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked . Here are a couple of the "better" ones w/ Kai.

He ventured out, on occasion to visit friends at the next table, and then checked out the ballroom.


Here Kai and Delia are exploring the bags and bags of "quiet church toys" and "active reception toys" that I packed in hopes that they would last out the event.


The boys were monkey'ing around as the photo session was taking place.


At one point during the wedding ceremony, Kai kicked back and got pretty comfy.

Playing Peek-a-Boo

This last one cracks me up. I grabbed a shot of what it looks like just before Kai takes a spill. Okay, I know you're thinking I should have put down the camera and grabbed the kid, but it all happened too fast. I was in the process of clicking when he lost his balance. P.S... He didn't get hurt either.

Kai and Delia, BFF's

Here's a picture that I should have posted a few days ago. It was taken at the same get-2-gether that Kai was caught wearing Delia's sunglasses. These two kiddos are enjoying a lot of time together this summer. Delia's Awesome Aunt Danielle is getting married this weekend, so I will have many more photos of them as they act like little angels during the ceremony (fingers crossed)and then party animals as they boogie woogie on the dance floor.

~Our little guy is spying his handiwork. In desperation, I showed him how to shred tissues so I could have a few precious seconds to do a load of laundry.

~Kai is "running" over to Daddy to jump on him.


~Here Kai is laying his head on my foot as I take his picture. (He only stays in one spot for a second before scooting off so I always need to get the shots quickly).

One Cool Cat!

Here we see Kai sporting a lovely pair of Hello Kitty sunglasses. (No, they're not his, they belong to his friend, Delia.) I think the "cat eye" look suits him.


Kai is walking EVERYWHERE these days. He carries, drags, and pushes around all his toys until the room is rearranged. His new "trick" is to fill a small bowl with odds and ends and walk around, arm extended, without dumping them out.

This week, we were fortunate to get several boxes of toddler toys from Rob's friend. Kai has enjoyed playing with his plunder and is clearly focused on his play in this photo.

Kai just figured out how to pull his puppy around with him as he walks. He was initially struggling with the temptation to watch the doggie as he walked (with disastrous results), but now he has mastered this and proudly (and safely) walks his doggie all over the house.

Happy Fourth of July!

Busy boy

Today we took Kai on his first real outing since our return fro China. We visited a petting farm and as you can see, he thoroughly enjoyed himself. This little guy loves animals of all shapes and sizes. I also added in a couple of photos taken before bed last evening, shots from this morning before breakfast, and several from this evening. Enjoy.
